Settings & rules (Spec 5.4)
Configure analysis rules and preferences.
In Settings you can customize analysis rules, severity thresholds, and integrations (Spec 5.4 Configurable Heuristics). Rules apply across all projects in your account.
Pattern preferences
Set preferences for Modals vs Drawers, Tabs vs Accordions, and Multi-step vs Single-page flows. Blue Painter uses these when suggesting alternatives and "Refactor to: Card + List + Modal"-style recommendations.
Responsive & breakpoint checks (v3)
In v3, reports will include a Responsiveness panel: presence of breakpoint variants (mobile, tablet, desktop), layout hints (e.g. "Consider stacking columns at 375px"), and Mantine-style implementation suggestions. Until then, the panel shows "Not analyzed" and links here.
Governance presets
Design Sprint — Minimal warnings, focus on ideation. Use during early sketching. Pre-Handoff — Full validation before marking ready for dev. Use right before design handoff. Startup Speed — Lenient, bias toward shipping. Enterprise Governance — Strict, bias toward consistency. Agency Client — Balanced, client-friendly reports.
Vertical presets (spec 5.5)
Load industry-specific rule bundles from the preset buttons. Each adjusts flow depth, severity thresholds, and allowed violations:
- SaaS — Onboarding (max 3 steps to value), dashboard complexity, settings checks
- E-commerce — Checkout (3–4 steps), cart/wishlist states, payment flow validation
- Healthcare — Consent flows, role validation, data sensitivity patterns
- Enterprise/B2B — Permission model, admin flows, bulk action safety
- Mobile Native — HIG/Material adherence, gesture appropriateness
Select a vertical preset when creating a project or running analysis so rules auto-adjust and reports include vertical-specific recommendations.
Export & import rules
Use Export rules to download your current analysis rules as JSON. Share with teammates, version in your repo, or save as a team preset for reuse. Use Import rules to load a saved JSON file. Load preset buttons apply preset rule bundles (Startup Speed, Enterprise, etc.) without overwriting custom values you've tweaked.
Design System Health (v3+, Spec 6.6)
For teams, the Design System Health Dashboard (v3) shows adoption rate, top violations across Figma files, component usage, and teams needing help. Real-time drift detection alerts when files drift from the design system (Spec 6.6 Advanced Design System Governance).
